Time to take care of yourself and family

Health services

Hospitals, GPs and health centres operate across all of our main townships, along with the ambulance service and Royal Flying Doctors Service for emergencies.

Pharmacies are also located in major town centres dispense prescriptions, have professional trained staff and are stocked with essentials.

For more information on what’s available in our towns take a look at Central Western Queensland Primary Health.

Fitness

From Bedourie to Barcaldine, and in between, there are private and council-run gyms along with aquatic centres, park-based gym equipment, fitness classes and walking and bike paths. Gyms operate hours to suit all walks of life with some 24 hour or special access available for members – like Boulia’s Sports and Aquatic Centre where out of hours gym keys are available from the Council Office with a gym membership.

Personal trainers and visiting classes are also on the list of things that can be available in your town.

Check your local council’s website and Facebook page for more information.
