What living is really like Play video

Far Out! What living is really like

Alina was living in a regional centre in New South Wales when she met Sam, who had left NSW to live in Blackall, Central West Queensland.

“We tried living down south for a while but found our hearts just wanted to be here and so this is where we planted ourselves about five years ago,” she explains.

They found it much more affordable to purchase and renovate a character Queenslander home and Alina was offered a job before she’d even arrived in the central west. Watch Alina’s full story to find out more or get in touch with us if you’re thinking of making a move.

Housing options

Far Out! Housing options

Queensland cities have seen massive booms in the housing market, making house purchasing and renting unaffordable and unobtainable to many people.

Central West Queensland has an average house price of $252,000 compared to that of Brisbane whose median price is $800,000. We offer affordable living with larger houses, and more land, for a fraction of the price.

Even though our centres share many things in common, each community has its own personality and style. And if the truth be told there quite a bit of healthy rivalry between them. So before you confuse Barcaldine with Boulia, or Blackall with Birdsville we’ve got some pointers for you.
